Who we are
GelTech Labs, Inc. is a California company, based in San Diego, that builds lab-automation instruments and services for biomaterials R&D. In this policy, "GelTech", "we" and "us" mean GelTech Labs, Inc. We decide how the personal information described here is used, which makes us its controller under European data protection law.
This policy covers geltechlabs.com, the forms and meeting scheduler on it, email and calls with our team, conferences, and our sales outreach to business contacts. It doesn't cover the samples, formulations and results a customer sends us for testing, which the customer's service agreement governs.

Information from other sources
We collect business contact information, such as a name, job title, employer, work email address, phone number and LinkedIn profile, from business contact databases, LinkedIn, company websites, published papers, conference programs and people who refer you. We use it to find people who work in biomaterials R&D and to contact them about GelTech.

We don't make decisions about you by automated means alone that have legal or similarly significant effects.
Cookies and tracking
Cookies are small text files a website stores in your browser. The site uses the tools below. Each one receives information about your visit, and the ones that set cookies use them to recognize your browser across pages and visits. Google and LinkedIn can also combine what their tags collect here with your activity on other websites.

Your cookie choices
Visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland see a cookie banner. For them, the site sets analytics and advertising cookies only after they accept, and the Cookie settings link at the bottom of every page changes the choice at any time.
Anyone can block or delete cookies in their browser settings, and the site still works with them blocked. Google and LinkedIn offer their own controls:
- Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on
- LinkedIn's cookie policy, which links its ad controls for members and visitors
Browsers' Do Not Track signals have no agreed standard, so the site doesn't respond to them.
How we share information
We don't sell personal information, and we don't give contact lists to other companies for their own marketing. LinkedIn's tag, described below, is the one way another company receives information about visits for its own advertising. We share personal information in these cases only:
- Service providers that run tools for us: the site tools above, Google Workspace for email and documents, Supabase for database hosting, and Apollo.io and LinkedIn Sales Navigator for business contact information and outreach. Each handles personal information under its agreement with us and its own privacy policy.
- LinkedIn receives information about visits through its Insight Tag and handles it under its own privacy policy, including to show and measure ads.
- Advisers and partners: our lawyers, accountants and auditors, and a testing partner when a project calls for one and you agree.
- Legal requirements: when the law, a court order or a government request requires it, or to protect the rights, property or safety of GelTech, our customers or others.
- Business transfers: as part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of GelTech.
- With your consent, or at your direction.
International transfers
GelTech is in the United States, and our providers store information in the United States and other countries. When we transfer personal information from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on the safeguards our providers offer for it, such as the European Commission's Standard Contractual Clauses or the provider's participation in the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework. Email us for a copy of the safeguards that apply.
How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes above:
- Contact and sales information: while we have a business relationship with you or your organization, or a reasonable prospect of one. After that, we delete it or remove what identifies you.
- Information tied to a sale or contract: as long as tax, accounting and legal obligations require.
- Analytics data: for the retention period we set in each analytics tool.
- Server logs: for as long as our hosting provider keeps them.
- Opt-outs: if you opt out of email, we keep your address on a do-not-contact list so we don't email you again.
How we protect information
We use reasonable administrative, technical and physical safeguards, and the site encrypts every connection with HTTPS. No website or storage system is completely secure, so we can't guarantee the security of information you send us.
Your rights
You can ask us to:
- tell you what personal information we hold about you, and give you a copy
- correct it
- delete it
- stop using it for marketing
Every marketing email from us gives you a way to opt out, by link or by reply.
If you're in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, you also have the right to:
- object to direct marketing at any time, and we'll stop
- restrict or object to our other uses of your information
- receive your information in a portable format
- withdraw consent at any time, without affecting use before you withdrew it
- complain to your local data protection authority
Residents of some US states have similar rights under state law. We honor requests as the law that applies to you requires.
To make a request, email angel@geltechlabs.com with "Privacy request" in the subject line. We'll confirm your identity before acting on it, and an authorized agent can make a request for you with your signed permission. We won't treat you differently for using these rights.
Children
The site is for professionals and isn't directed to children under 16. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children, and we delete it if we learn we have.
California residents
California's Shine the Light law lets residents ask whether a business has disclosed their personal information to third parties for those parties' own direct marketing. GelTech doesn't make those disclosures.
Changes to this policy
We'll post any change on this page and update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we use information you've already given us, we'll say so on the site or by email before it takes effect.
